Swedish Electric Automaker Polestar Plans Thailand Push

Swedish electric performance car brand Polestar is expanding its commercial footprint and retail operations across existing and new markets, as its model line-up continues to grow. The brand has announced plans to enter seven new markets, including a new Asian location, during 2025.

The company is currently widening its retail footprint with existing and new partners, as part of a shift to a non-genuine agency sales model.

Customers will still be able to configure and order their Polestar online, as well as through the expanding network of Polestar Spaces and service locations, making it easier for more customers to buy and own a Polestar.

Polestar is also accelerating its geographic expansion and plans to enter seven new markets during 2025. In Asia the automaker said it will open in Thailand via local distribution partnerships.

Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO, says: “Expanding our retail operations with new and existing partners will enable us to reach more customers. Through these partnerships and expansion, we will capitalise on our strong brand and growing model line-up.”

Polestar plans to have a line-up of five performance EVs by 2026. Polestar 2, the electric performance fastback, launched in 2019, Polestar 3, the SUV launched in late 2022, Polestar 4, the SUV coupé, is launching in phases into 2024, while Polestar 5, an electric four-door GT and Polestar 6, an electric roadster, are coming soon.
