Siam Piwat Achieves Sustainability Goal With Significant Solar Rooftop Installation

Siam Piwat, the owner of the prime Bangkok retail mall Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery, and a joint venture partner of Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok and IconSiam, has completed the installation of 50,000 square meters of solar rooftop at Siam Premium Outlets in Bangkok.

The solar panels can generate 3,800,760 kWh per year which Siam Piwat says aids in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 1,900 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e), or equivalent to the impact of planting 110,465 trees.

Siam Piwat said the 100-million-Thai baht investment also plays a pivotal role in fostering energy conservation in the long term and cultivating environmentally conscious and sustainable business practices.

Naratipe Ruttapradid, Chief Operating Officer, Operations, Siam Piwat said: “The project aims to harness solar energy as a replacement for conventional electricity usage, fostering energy and environmental preservation to mitigate pollution. This aligns with the organisation’s commitment to curbing greenhouse gas emissions and playing a part in building a low-carbon society.”

The installation was completed in August 2023 in collaboration with Thai renewable energy firm Gunkul Engineering, electric vehicle charging stations are also being installed in the premium outlet complex.
